October Wrap-Up

We've just wrapped October's food service and what a month. With your generosity and support here's what we've served:

  • 1100+ freshly cooked hot evening meals with puddings.

  • 170+ litres of nutrient-packed homemade soup and rolls.

  • 1000+ lunch-packs with sandwiches, crips and a snack bar.

  • Countless fresh fruit sausage rolls, cakes and savouries.

  • Hot coffee and fruit squash - we just lost count!!

All of this is made possible by your kindness in helping us with our mission to ensure the homeless, rough-sleepers and those most in need in our local community get a nutritional meal when they need it most.

And in the words of one of our new clients that used our service this month "thank you, this is just amazing". And those few quietly spoken words makes it all worthwhile

Octobers news

Outside of all the chopping, preparing, cooking and serving by our volunteers we've also received many generous donations, including financial donations, food supplies, cake baking and wonderful pre made lunch-packs.

From kind individuals to amazing local businesses, both large and small , it all makes a real difference and we can't thank you enough

It's also been a busy month behind the scenes building our local community links so that we can ensure we're here to support the growing number of people needing our service. Here's what's been happening:

We partnered with Maggs to support them with the launch of their Roots and Shoots allotment project, with two of our trustees manning the BBQ which went down a treat.

We've attended several local community events, including being invited to give an overview of our service to the Worcester Baptist Church, and meeting with our local MP Tom Collins for Worcester and other key stakeholders in Worcesters first Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Summit.

Facebook is our main home on socials and our page is now at an amazing 2177 followers. We know we need to spread our wings a bit too so this month launched WSK on both Instagram and Linkedin to a very warm welcome. If you are on either of those platforms please search for 'Worcester Street Kitchen' and give us a follow.

The lovely team at Yoga Collective Worcester held a Vin-to Yin Yoga workshop as a fundraising event for us. Raising a whopping £500

Chartwells at the University of Worcester visited us for the first time and came wth a surprise - bringing a HUGE donation of around 300 delicious sandwiches ready for us to give out.

As always a huge thank you to the Worcester Salvation Army Church and Community Hub in Trinity St for letting us use the premises to provde our service from
